LNP INTRODUCES NEW KONDUIT® ULTEM® COMPOUND
BERGEN OP ZOOM, The Netherlands – June 23, 2003 – LNP Engineering Plastics, a GE Plastics Company (NYSE: GE) headquartered in Exton, Pa., announced that it has added a new high-performance material, KONDUIT® ULTEM® compound, to its established line of KONDUIT thermally conductive thermoplastics. Based on GE Plastics’ ULTEM resin, the new thermally and electrically conductive material combines the exceptional dimensional stability of ULTEM resin with the thermal management performance of LNP’s KONDUIT compounds. This unique combination enables KONDUIT ULTEM compound to improve a component’s thermal performance and extend part life in high-temperature metal-replacement applications.

Based on extensive knowledge gained in developing drums, pails and canisters for various application areas as well as on their injection moulding and tooling expertise, Theodor Fries Gesellschaft m.b.H. & Co. of Sulz, Austria, has developed an innovative 18-litre pail designed especially for hazardous materials. The pail is moulded in a proprietary Faradex® steel fibre filled compound from LNP Engineering Plastics, a world leader in custom-engineered thermoplastic material solutions.

When Toro sets out to design new sprinklers, its goal is to create best-in-class products that “one up” the competition in terms of features, performance and durability for the category. In fact, their corporate tagline is ”count on it.“ That’s why Toro turned to LNP Engineering Plastics, a GE Plastics Company (NYSE:GE) headquartered in Exton, PA, when developing materials for its new EZ AdjustTM sprinkler. An internally lubricated Lubricomp® acetal from LNP is used in the transmission cluster gears and bearings, providing exceptional abrasive wear resistance and durability. The sprinkler also uses internally lubricated Lubricomp polyurethane in seals and gaskets in the cap that houses the riser, promoting smooth, non-sticking operation.
