The demand for ultrasoft TPEs has been increasing across various industrial sectors. The reasons for this are obvious. Whether they are intended for key products such as orthopedic equipment or applications in prosthetics – their particularly soft surface feel, combined with a soft grip, make the compounds particularly suitable for a variety of application segments. KRAIBURG TPE is now meeting these requirements globally.

Reducing material density, strengthening the sustainability factor: KRAIBURG TPE introduces Lightweight TPE with a high proportion of recycled content

Substituting standard thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) with light TPEs with recycled content opens up a wide range of options.
(Image: © 2024 KRAIBURG TPE)Industry demand for lightweight materials that have properties comparable to those of conventional materials in their specific application environments has been increasing by leaps and bounds in recent years. The replacement of conventional thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) by Lightweight TPEs with recycled content plays a central role here. Lightweight TPEs provide wide-ranging options and unique materials parameters.

Envalior launches a new range of sustainable Pocan® PBT compounds based on bio-circular BDO

Envalior is currently launching the Pocan® X-MB series of new PBT compounds based on bio-circular BDO. The sustainable content of the thermoplastics is certified and classified in accordance with the ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) standard. The precursor for bio-circular BDO is used cooking oil.

The sustainable content of the thermoplastics is certified and classified in accordance with the ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) standard. The precursor for bio-circular BDO is used cooking oil, which does not compete with food production, as it is a second-generation feedstock. Envalior will be showcasing the new bio-based PBT compounds at the Fakuma trade show, Oct. 15 to 19, 2024, at Friedrichshafen Exhibition Center. You can find Envalior in Hall B4, Stand 4302.
