OMRON Selected as a Top 100 Global Innovator – One of the Most Innovative Corporations in the World

OMRON Corporation (Kyoto, Japan; Yoshihito Yamada, CEO) has been selected as a 2016 Top 100 Global Innovator by Clarivate Analytics (formerly the Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters). Global information services firm Clarivate Analytics selects the Top 100 Global Innovators based on proprietary intellectual property and patent data. Clarivate analyzes intellectual property trends according to an independent index to identify the most innovative corporations and institutions. The 2016 award marks the second time that OMRON has been selected as a Top 100 Global Innovator, being most recently honored in 2013.

In 1959, OMRON founder Kazuma Tateishi committed the company to Improve Lives and Contribute to a Better Society, creating the spiritual cornerstone of the firm along with a series of technological innovations. Rigorous and objective data extracted from Derwent World Patents Index (largest value-added patent database in the world) and Thomson Innovation (intellectual property survey and analysis platform), as well as independent assessment standards, are used in consideration of the awards.
