SABIC reveals here at K 2019 (Hall 6, Stand D-42) its ambitious global growth strategy for its Specialties business, targeting the company’s vast array of vital technologies that help address hard problems in emerging markets such as electrical mobility, 5G infrastructure and remote healthcare. SABIC’s goal is to grow its Specialties business into one of the top five multi-segment premium specialty chemical companies in the world. Within the high performance engineering resins space, the company will continue to invest in innovation, sustainable technologies and global supply capacity. SABIC holds September technical summit in Bengaluru, India as global LNP™ anniversary celebration continues
The SABIC Technology Center in Bengaluru, India, was the location for the latest in a series of global technical summits held by the company to mark 70 years of its LNP™ product line of engineering thermoplastic compounds and copolymers. The summit, which took place on September 17, drew more than 150 key decision makers working in engineering and design at processors, toolmakers, Tiers, OEMs, and ODMs from across the country.

SABIC heads to Japan in July for next global LNP™ anniversary technical summit
A series of global technical summits being held by SABIC to mark 70 years of its LNP™ product line of engineering thermoplastic compounds and resins continues later this month, in Japan. SABIC has invited engineers and designers at ODMs and OEMs, molders and toolmakers from around the country to the World Trade Center, Tokyo, on July 23, for a series of presentations tuned to key aspects of the Japanese market, delegates will also have the opportunity to look at application-related displays, and have one-on-one meetings with company experts.

SABIC continues global LNP anniversary technical summit series in Singapore
SABIC is continuing to hold a series of technical summits in Asia to mark 70 years of its LNP™ product line of engineering thermoplastic compounds and copolymers. After a series of events organized globally over the past few months, including across China and Malaysia, the next summit takes place in Singapore on June 18 and 19. Around 250 delegates, including engineers and designers at ODMs and OEMs, molders and toolmakers from across Southeast Asia, India and Japan, converged on the Park Royal Hotel for a series of presentations, displays, and one-on-one meetings with SABIC experts .

SABIC to make further significant investments in high heat ULTEM™ resin capacity
SABIC has announced that the company is making significant investments in expanding the capacity of its ULTEM™ and EXTEM™ high heat resin production in order to meet growing demand. The new production plant in Singapore is due to come on-stream in the first half of 2021, making SABIC the only high heat resin producer with manufacturing capability in all regions. In addition to this, investments to stretch our short term capacity were made to support the immediate growing demand. SABIC introduces LNP™ ELCRIN™ iQ upcycled compounds to extend useful life of PET bottles and help reduce plastic waste
SABIC today introduced its LNP™ ELCRIN™ iQ portfolio of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) compounded resins derived from recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) to support the circular economy and help reduce plastic waste. By chemically upcycling consumer-discarded PET (primarily single-use water bottles) into higher-value PBT materials with enhanced properties and suitability for more-durable applications, the company is encouraging the use of recycled resins. These products also offer a smaller cradle-to-gate environmental footprint than virgin PBT resin, as measured by Cumulative Energy Demand (CED) and Global Warming Potential (GWP).
