Owens Corning Realigns Composites Business Management Team to Enhance Leadership in Markets Worldwide
Regional Teams Poised to Develop Opportunities, Speed Results
Toledo, Ohio, U.S.A., March 30, 2004 – Owens Corning announced today the appointment of regional leaders in the emerging composites markets of Asia and Europe. With local leadership and sales teams in these key regions, the company is positioned to better and more rapidly fulfill growing customer needs as well as identify new opportunities and applications.
“There is tremendous potential for composites in these complex and rapidly-growing markets which requires leadership that is on-the-ground and immersed in the local environment – a key part of our strategy to think globally and act locally,” said Chuck Dana, president, Owens Corning Composite Solutions Business (CSB). “That way, we have a deeper understanding of both needs and opportunities, which allows us to proactively deliver innovative solutions.”
Key appointments within CSB include:
Raymund Trost, vice president and managing director, CSB Europe. In this role, Trost will oversee and grow our current market initiatives in Western Europe - in partnership with the OC® Automotive and OC® Fabrics business segments. Trost will also broaden opportunities in the burgeoning Eastern European composites market.
Steve Zirkel, managing director, CSB Asia. As managing director in Asia, Zirkel is charged with ensuring that Owens Corning and its customers capitalize on Asia's rapidly-increasing demand, especially China, for composite products in markets such as: transportation, infrastructure, electrical / electronic, and building & construction.
“This refocusing of our leadership team will result in not only a higher-level of service , but greater opportunity to share our composites expertise and, with our customers, deliver solutions that will transform these exciting markets and enhance many lives,” said Dana.
