Owens Corning Names Chuck Dana President of Its Composite Solutions Business
TOLEDO, Ohio, Jan. 28, 2004 – Owens Corning announced today that Chuck Dana has been named president of the company's Composite Solutions Business. The Composite Solutions Business produces and supplies a wide variety of fiberglass material solutions to numerous manufacturing industries including automotive, marine, wind energy and telecommunications.
"Chuck has demonstrated his leadership abilities in a variety of roles, and I am pleased that he has accepted the challenge to continue to grow this important business," said Owens Corning CEO Dave Brown. "Chuck is a great choice for this role. He is a champion of safety and global diversity, understands the importance of customer focus, and is a respected member of my team. Mr. Dana joined Owens Corning in 1996 as vice president of Audit. Since that time, he has held various positions in sourcing and e-business, as well as serving as the vice president of Finance for the Composite Systems Business from 1997 - 1999. In 2002, he was named vice president, Corporate Controller and Global Sourcing.
Originally from Corning, N.Y., Mr. Dana received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, in 1977. Prior to joining Owens Corning, Mr. Dana spent 17 years at General Electric, most recently as president of the locomotive division in Indonesia. Mr. Dana is also a member of the Board of the Medical College of Ohio and Valentine Theatre in Toledo.
