Next Generation Infiltration Unit is ready to go Wavin Q-Bic
Modern rainwater management has a range of benefits from both ecological and economic viewpoints. Firstly, it is well-known that rainwater is not waste water, and so it does not belong in the sewage system. On the contrary, it is more and more often usefully used for various applications such as watering the garden, for washing water or for flushing toilets. It is stored in reservoirs for this purpose.
Any surplus water fed back into the house piping system by suitable pumping equipment flows into percolation units, which ensures that the natural groundwater renewal rate is either retained or re-established.
There are, however, many other advantages: the existing sewage system is subject to less loading if rainwater is not added, sewage treatment works are conserved and small decentralised units are also additionally useful for flood protection.
Ideally seen, rainwater management is a combination of rainwater usage and rainwater percolation. Wavin, a leading European manufacturer of water systems and water supply technologies, is at the leading edge of this sector with its powerful system solutions.
The company has been setting the scene for extensive solutions in rainwater management particularly since the integration of ELWA in the Wavin company. These range from the collection of rainwater through pipework, reservoirs, storage and percolation right up to the incorporation of rainwater concepts in modern heating technology.
To emphasise things once again: the natural condition of groundwater renewal is retained or re-established at its natural condition before commencement of building, thanks to a combination of rainwater usage and rainwater percolation. This is exactly what environmental experts demand.
The technique of using percolation hollow bodies made of plastic for rain water percolation has a decisive advantage: considerably less space is required than for other methods. This makes rainwater usage possible even on smaller building plots.
Wavin / ELWA has announced a new percolation hollow body as a highlight of its range for the ISH in Frankfurt with the trade name “Wavin Q-Bic”. The complex PP module of dimensions 1200 x 600 x 600 mm has a gross volume of 432 litres and is designed for traffic loading of up to SLW 60 at 0.8 m earth coverage.
According to the manufacturer’s information, it is the first integrated system with built-in manhole function and optimised camera and distribution tunnel (soft-glide system). This allows the construction of percolation reservoirs of any size. The special thing about this unit is that it is now even easier to inspect and clean. Wavin / ELWA therefore meets the often-expressed requirements of many users.
There is, however, even more: a remarkable service package is available in addition to the wide range of Wavin Q-Bic accessories, which ranges from no-cost building consultation through sizing calculations following national requirements up to the provision of a calculation programme.
All things considered, the Wavin Q-Bic is the start of a new era in rainwater management with even better solutions and further innovative products. It has what it takes! www.elwa.de
