Vecom Marine – New Strategic Alliance of Key Suppliers to the Marine Industry

Vecom Group and Unimarine Group form synergetic combination

Maassluis, Netherlands - May 5, 2006 – Vecom Group, Maassluis, the Netherlands and Unimarine Group, Piraeus, Greece, have signed a letter of intent to form a strategic alliance to be known as Vecom Marine Alliance or ‘Vecom Marine’.

Vecom Marine will supply the following products and services to the Marine Industry:

• Chemicals for cleaning and maintenance

• Gases & Refrigerants

• Electrodes and welding equipment

• Fire fighting & safety equipment

“Vecom has a long association with the marine industry and we are very excited about re-entering this market as a direct supplier” says Rein Breeman, Director of both Vecom Marine and Vecom Group.

Jason Georgiou, co-Director of Vecom Marine and founder of the Unimarine Group, adds: “Unimarine recognizes the high level of know-how within Vecom and this alliance will provide us with a solid basis upon which to operate in the dynamic marine industry and will enable us to grow in the future.”

The alliance allows Vecom to return as a direct supplier to the marine industry after an absence of 10 years. During this time Vecom was always, but indirectly involved in the industry producing cleaning and maintenance chemicals under a private label for Drew-Ashland and Marine Care. Vecom has been active in the marine industry since 1953.

The Unimarine Group has been a well known supplier to the marine industry for over a decade. The company has a worldwide network for the supply of products and services to the marine industry and the Group is comprised of the following divisions:

• ‘Uniclean’ – Chemicals

• ‘Unigas’ - Gases & Refrigerants

• ‘Unisafety’ - Fire Fighting & Safety Services

• ‘Unimarine’ - Technical Supplies and Specialty Chemicals

Vecom Marine will expand its network actively in the coming months and distinguish itself by offering reliable and consistent quality products and services, and as in the past, its approach to the market will be characterized by flexibility and strong customer focus.
