E&E UK takes the name of its parent company and re-brands as Univar UK Ltd
1 July 2003. E&E, the UK’s largest chemical distributor, technical services and solutions provider, has adopted the Univar brand. E&E businesses throughout the UK have been members of Univar N.V. since 2001, which itself devolved from Vopak N.V. to become a separate company at the end of June 2002.
Starting in January this year there has been a progressive, customer-friendly re-branding of the Univar business units on a country-by-country basis. The UK subsidiary was the last of these operations to effect the name change, becoming Univar UK Ltd.
According to Paul Symmons, Managing Director, Univar UK: “Our new branding enables us to promote precisely what we stand for as a company, a clarity that can be difficult to maintain as we become even more successful and, consequently, more diverse.”
“Moreover, it allows us to be easily identified with our parent Univar N.V., which is the largest chemical distributor in the world. As such it reinforces the supply chain benefits and security that stems from relationships with our world leading partners, as well as our dedicated local service to customers. And not least, because of the asset base on which we are able to draw, it gives another dimension to our European corporate slogan ‘Knowledge that delivers’,” he says.
In Europe, Univar is the second largest chemical distributor with operations in 14 countries including the UK, Ireland, France, Benelux, Germany, Switzerland, the Nordic region, Italy and the Iberian Peninsula. The company also has significant positions within the European marketplace in the distribution of polymers and food ingredients.
