Songwon appoints Peter Berka as Manager Sales and Distribution in Europe

Ulsan, Korea - May 27, 2013 - Songwon Industrial Group (www.songwon.com) has appointed Peter Berka as Manager Sales and Distribution in Europe. In this role, which he started on May 2, 2013, he will report to Elena Scaltritti, Songwon's Sales Director for Greater Europe.

Alongside his sales responsibility of meeting the goals set for the European business unit, Peter will closely monitor the market dynamics to identify and proactively develop value added solutions to meet the needs of Songwon’s customers. This approach will also be applied to the management of the supporting distribution network and partners. As the face of Songwon to the customer, he will manage communication in both directions from the Songwon technical and product management teams to and from the market. Additionally he will play an important role in identifying potential partners and integrating them into the Songwon commercial system.

Elena Scaltritti commented: “We welcome Peter to the European commercial organization. He will strengthen our team and brings a wealth of experience in the area of quality coatings and chemical products to converters and Tier One suppliers in key industrial market segments. In this key function he will manage our growing portfolio of both customers and products. Our range of Songnox® One Pack Systems (OPS) has been boosted by doubling the volume at our Greiz, Germany facility and our collaboration with Sabo to sell HALS (Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers) is now in full swing. Economic recovery in Europe is slow and the market has been affected by turbulent demand and rising costs. With Peter on board, Songwon is well placed to continue both its growth trend and profitable returns.”

Peter Berka joins Songwon having held positions in technical support, marketing and sales at DuPont Performance Coatings Austria GmbH and Dic Performance Resins GmbH, Vienna. Most recently Peter held the position of European Sales Manager for Dyflex Polymers BV, H.I. Ambacht, Netherlands. He holds a degree in Textile Chemistry from the Secondary College of Engineering for Textile Industry, Vienna (Austria).
