Battenfeld miniBEX - with a maxi-success
Just one year ago, Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik, Bad Oeynhausen, Germany launched its miniBEX - a low-cost extrusion line to manufacture high-end small industrial profiles. The extraordinary sales success of these extrusion lines has now prompted the machine manufacturer to further optimize this machine concept by offering additional functions.
The miniBEX, which is delivered as a "plug and play" unit, consists of five compo-nents. One of its new features is that all four processing units, the active conical twin screw extruder BEX 2-54 C, the parallel twin-screw extruder BEX 2-50-16 V, and the two single-screw extruders BEX 1-45-25 D and BEX 1-60-25 D are now available upon request with BMCplus control instead of BMCsmart control. The BMCplus con-trol system has already been standard equipment in all large Battenfeld extrusion lines for the last two years. This control system, which is available in 19 languages, integrates the complete extrusion line. It is appreciated by customers worldwide for its clear structure and ease of operation as well as its range of options which offer maximum flexibility.
Another innovative improvement has been made to the drives of the single-screw extruders. Their conventional motors and drives have now been replaced by high-performance CMG compact-drive motors. Small footprint, low acoustic pressure and low vibration, as well as excellent cooling properties, are the most outstanding ad-vantages of this new drive technology. In spite of their very compact design, incorpo-rating four water-cooled three-phase motors, these drive systems are laid out to al-low removal of the screw from the barrel either in the direction of extrusion or in the opposite direction.
In response to customer requests Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik now offers the cali-brating table, which is part of the standard down-stream equipment, in two lengths. To accommodate especially the high output performance of the active conical ex-truder, a 6 m version has recently been made available besides the standard 4 m calibrating table. Of course all proven technical features are identical in both models.
