Headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with operations in approximately 30 countries around the world.
With 20-year history operating in U.S., SABIC has more than 200 employees in its regional headquarters in Houston, TX. Houston is home to one of the major overseas research centers – the SABIC Technology Center at Houston, which was established in 1997 and covers more than 38,000 square feet.
In Europe, SABIC employs around 3,300 people, with three petrochemical manufacturing sites at Geleen (the Netherlands), Teeside (United Kingdom) and at Gelsenkirchen (Germany).
In addition to Houston, the company has significant research resources and has dedicated R&D centers in Riyadh, Geleen in the Netherlands and Vadodara in India.

Mohamed Al-Mady, Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Before his appointment as Vice-Chairman and CEO in 1998, Mohamed Al-Mady was SABIC's Director General for Projects.
Mr. Al-Mady is also Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company (SAFCO), as well as being a member of the SABIC Research and Technology Executive Committee and SABIC Europe BV’s Executive Board. He sits on the board of Aluminum Bahrain (ALBA) and on the US-Saudi Business Council, and heads the Saudi side of the Saudi-Taiwanese Joint Committee for Economic and Technical Cooperation.
Mr. Al-Mady is a chemical engineer who joined SABIC at its inception in 1976. He earned his BS at the University of Colorado in 1973 and his MS in chemical engineering from the University of Wyoming in 1975.
