SABIC Innovative Plastics’ Commitment to Turkish Market Underscores Expanding Regional, Global Business Strategy
Istanbul, Turkey – December 5, 2007 – SABIC Innovative Plastics is exhibiting here at Plast Eurasia 2007, demonstrating the importance of the Turkish market to its expanding regional and global business strategy. The company offers Turkish customers a strong local team, a local distributor with many years of experience, and the extensive resources of its world-call Global Application Technology (GApT) centers. At its exhibit in booth #701, SABIC Innovative Plastics is showcasing the latest high-performance materials technologies for such key Turkish industries as healthcare, automotive, packaging, and appliances.

According to PAGEV data, Turkey’s consumption of plastics is steadily growing – from 2.2 million tons in 2000 to an anticipated 6.3 million tons in 2010. Plastics sales in the country are being driven by the trend toward manufacturing goods in eastern nations to leverage lower costs and more easily supply expanding local demand.
SABIC Innovative Plastics has established a field team in Turkey, comprising industry-specific expertise in application development, processing support, sales, and marketing. Further, the company has an official agreement with Istanbul-based Enpas, which offers local warehousing and distribution services and covers the free trade zone. Enpas has more than 20 years of plastics experience.
In addition, SABIC Innovative Plastics is supporting Turkish customers with a wide range of value-added services, from industry trend analysis and feasibility studies to tool design optimization at its Europe/Middle East GApT center in Bergen op Zoom, the Netherlands.
