Rhodia Silcea announces a 10% global price increase on High Performance Silica range
Lyon, France, June 22nd, 2006 – Rhodia Silcea is announcing a 10 percent price increase for its high performance precipitated silica range as a result of the continuous rise in raw materials, energy and transport costs. This present increase will take effect from July 1st, 2006.
“The High Performance Silica market is growing rapidly around the world”, states Peter Browning, Rhodia’s Silica Business Director. “As a global leader in this market, we have to restore margins to a level which allow us to reinvest in our production capacities and ensure a reliable supply chain for our customers.”
Rhodia has proactively worked to reduce energy consumption and logistic costs, while constantly maintaining the highest industry standards in its approach to sustainable development. However, these efforts are no longer sufficient by themselves to overcome energy, raw material and transport cost pressures.
