Interplas appoints previous exhibitor to direct the show
Reed Exhibitions is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Crawford as Interplas Exhibition Director.
Ian joins Interplas with hands on practical experience of the challenges that the plastics industry faces. Enjoying a decade of success starting in 1992 at Spaceminster, Ian sold Boy and BM Biraghi moulding machines into the UK market, first as an Area Salesman but then as Sales Director and board member. In 2002 Ian joined Demag Hamilton as Sales Director and board member selling the Demag injection moulding machines in the UK.
Ian has exhibited and visited many of the European Plastics Exhibitions during the last 14 years and understands the real benefits of getting “your message to market”. Having been in the position of deciding where to spend the sales/marketing budget, he knows exactly the difficulties that Interplas exhibitors face. It is essential that the cost of such exhibitions are made more appropriate for the current market climate and Reed is determined to bring a show to the industry that will give more for less.
Justin Tadman, moving from his role as Interplas Exhibition Director to Divisional Managing Director, still remains involved in the future of Interplas. Commenting on the appointment of his successor Justin said, “We’ve been looking very closely at the conditions within the European plastics and rubber market, and have been working to ensure that Interplas offers the market exactly what it needs. Ian’s frontline experiences in the plastics industry make him the perfect candidate to provide the insight to develop and deliver an Interplas show that reflects the demands of today’s market.”
Asked about his new role as Interplas Exhibition Director, Ian said “I hope that my old colleagues and competitors in the plastics industry take some comfort that Reed Exhibitions have appointed someone from the plastics industry to lead Interplas. I’ve exhibited at Interplas three times, I know its strengths and its weaknesses - Interplas provides some great opportunities for the plastics industry but it is essential that the show now adapts to the changes taking place."
