Rapid Granulator AB introduces new 45 Series
New granulator series that users helped design
Rapid Granulator AB introduces its new 45 Series of granulators. Uniquely, Rapid designed the series after an extensive survey among granulator users, asking what they considered the most important aspects of such a machine. The new series, that covers three model sizes with cutter house openings of 450×600 mm, 450×900 mm and 450×1200 mm, has been designed to incorporate many features based on that survey.
“We have to thank our clients for their input as to what they would like to see in high-performance granulators,” says Johan Magnusson, Sales and Marketing Director of Rapid Granulator. ”Their ideas helped us to design a series of machines that definitely satisfies our customers' needs, combining maximal up-time and economy with a longer life span.”
An important improvement of the 45 Series from an ergonomic point of view is that the heart of the granulator can be reached very easily, resulting in fast cleaning, maintenance and changeover times. This quick access is facilitated by an electric jack that opens and closes the feed hopper and a front panel that requires no tools to open. In addition, the new design of the safety interlock system allows quicker opening of the granulator, while its speed-related sensor, that ensures the rotor being stationary before the cutter house can be opened, also makes it safer.
The double scissors of the 45 Series reduce the force needed to slice through plastic waste, saving energy and running costs. With its consistently smooth and clean cutting it produces high-quality plastic granules ready for recycling.
The constant cutting circle, common to all Rapid granulators, helps prevent dust, further enhanced by the combination of rotating end plates on the rotor shaft and the tight fit between the end plates and the cutter house walls.
After the granulator has been installed the cutter house of the new Rapid 45 Series can be re-configured on site for injection moulding, blow moulding or extrusion. In addition, accessory equipment can be added to an installed machine with ease, whether it’s soundproofing units, flywheels for saving energy, or various hoppers and feeding mechanisms.
