Presentation of the Quadrant Award 2013

Treat, University of California, Santa Barbara, USA, Dr. Sangwoo Lee, University of Minnesota, USA.Zurich, January 31, 2013 - Quadrant, a global leader in the manufacturing of high-performance thermoplastics and composites, conferred the coveted international «Quadrant Award» for the fifth time on Friday, January 25, 2013. The international invitation to submit entries for the award was addressed to graduates who had written a doctoral thesis in the field of «Materials and processes related to engineering and high-performance plastics and composites» between October 1, 2010, and September 30, 2012. Of the four prizewinners, the Japanese researcher Dr. Nobuhiro Yanai won the first prize of EUR 15 000. Dr. Yanai wrote his thesis at Kyoto University, Japan and is now assistant professor at Kyushu University, Japan. The other three Quadrant Award winners, who have won prizes of EUR 5 000 each are (in alphabetical order): Dr. Shelby B. Hutchens (USA), California Institute of Technology, USA, post-doctoral position at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA; Dr. Sangwoo Lee (South Korea), University of Minnesota, USA, post-doctoral position at the University of Minnesota; and Dr. Neil D. Treat (USA), University of California, Santa Barbara, USA, post-doctoral position at Imperial College London, UK. The event took place at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland.

Continued improvement reflected in Quadrant’s first quarter results

EnglishZurich, 4 May 2007, 06:30 a.m. – For the first quarter of 2007, Quadrant again reported improved results despite slight economic weakness in North America. Net sales reached CHF 215.9 million, representing an 1% growth over the comparable period in 2006, or +2% when adjusted for currency translation effects (Q1, 2006: CHF 213.6 million). Quadrant is to confer for the first time an international award for outstanding academic achievement in the field of «Materials and processes related to engineering and high-performance plastics and composites». Graduates who have received a PhD or Master's degree between August 1, 2004, and July 31, 2005, are invited to enter. Prizes of EUR 15 000 (PhD level) and EUR 5 000 (Master's level) await the winners. Recovery trend continues in first half year

Zurich, August 27, 2004, 7.15 a.m. – In the first half of 2004 Quadrant reported net sales of 247.1 million Swiss francs, compared with 205.4 million Swiss francs in the first half of 2003.
