Owens Corning Announces Plans to Increase Veil Capacity

Toledo, Ohio, 9 April, 2002 – As part of its global growth strategy, Owens Corning announced today plans to increase veil capacity with the addition of a new production line in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.

As the recognized global leader in glass fiber non-wovens, Owens Corning has a very strong position in many markets with a particular focus on building materials, automotive and industrial applications. Demand for OC™ Veils has grown rapidly during recent years due to the unique performance characteristics of these products.

This addition will first support the growth of our existing customers while also allowing us to continue the development of new markets and applications globally,” said Raymund Trost, vice president, Owens Corning.

The new line will feature the latest technologies and production flexibility. This expands Owens Corning’s capabilities to offer enhanced performance and productivity, while providing profitable growth opportunities for its customers. The line will be operational in the fourth quarter of 2003.
