Omnexus: the global plastics e-marketplace

Omnexus™ (www.omnexus.com) is a global, neutral online marketplace focused on delivering products and related services to the plastics industry. It provides a single point of connectivity for plastics processors and suppliers.

Omnexus was created and funded by the following companies: Atofina, BASF AG,

Bayer AG, Biesterfeld, Clariant, Dow Chemical, DSM, DuPont, Ellis & Everard, PolyOne, Resinex & Ravago, Solvay and Ticona/Celanese. It has already grown to more than

20 multinational suppliers and is now adding equipment, tooling and MRO suppliers.

The Omnexus site is operational in the United States, will be launched in Europe on

March 19, and it will serve Asia and the rest of the world by the end of 2002. Global headquarters for the company is Zurich, Switzerland. In the U.S., Omnexus operates from Atlanta, Ga.

The emerging company, founded in April 2000, already has 50 permanent employees of whom 10 are located in Europe. As a part of their global roll-out strategy, Omnexus is rapidly increasing their European staff. The Omnexus technology platform has been located in Europe since start-up, and will continue to reside there with a full support staff.
