German Insurer Alte Leipziger Saves €1 Million and Gains Competitive Advantage with Nobilas Accident Management Services
Frankfurt, Germany – November, 2007 – Nobilas Claims & Fleet Solutions, the accident management specialist, recently announced that German insurance company Alte Leipziger has achieved significant cost savings (on average 11%) and other benefits from Nobilas’ service. A review of Alte Leipziger’s results by the Institute of Insurance Economics at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland revealed overall savings of 20%, or 1 million euro, on annual vehicle repair costs. At the same time, accident management services provide a competitive differentiator to customers; a third of all Alte Leipziger’s policyholders choose value-added services from Nobilas, such as vehicle pick-up and delivery and replacement vehicles.
The University of St. Gallen, the only university in Europe that offers an MBA degree in insurance studies, conducted an in-depth study on Alte Leipziger as part of a research project to determine which measurable and intangible benefits result from a controlled accident management program. Among its conclusions:
- Nobilas’ controlled accident management program is between 15% and 30% less expensive compared to direct referral to a body shop.
- Nobilas’ centralized assessment (engineering) and invoicing systems reduce administrative costs per claim by an average of 11%.
- Potential savings per claim with the Nobilas service amount to 181 Euro.
“We have reduced administrative and repair costs and gained a new competitive offering for our customers with the Nobilas service,” said Markus Butterweck, Head of Claims-Management for Alte Leipziger. “Partnering with a managed accident service is much more efficient than trying to handle the process ourselves. With Nobilas, our customers enjoy a fast, professional repair experience, and our company saves considerable amounts of money. Plus, it enables us to concentrate on our core business.”
Nobilas manages the complete repair process for damaged vehicles owned by corporations, rental car agencies and leasing companies and damaged vehicles which are handled by auto insurers. Nobilas accident management solutions take advantage of its integrated ICT platform and its pan-European and North American network of body shops.
“Insurance companies like Alte Leipziger are gaining major savings as well as greater customer satisfaction from our comprehensive accident management services,” said Thomas Geiger, General Manager for Nobilas Germany, Austria and Switzerland. “A collision is an emotional situation for customers that can be helped significantly through prompt, courteous and efficient service. By providing turnkey accident management services to its policyholders, companies can build goodwill and loyalty.”
