ISP introduces Ceraphyl® SLK, a new emollient for improved personal care formulations

International Specialty Products (ISP), a world-leading supplier of specialty ingredients for the cosmetics industry and a leader in preservative technology, has added an exciting new emollient to its established Ceraphyl® product line. Designated Ceraphyl® SLK, this new product gave its market introduction at In-Cosmetics 2004 exhibition, Milan, April 27-29.

Smooth application and good after-feel on the skin are key customer appeal characteristics for skin care applications. The new Ceraphyl SLK ingredient has been specifically developed to enhance these qualities in a broad range of personal care products.

Ceraphyl SLK is a highly branched, low molecular weight, low viscosity ester that is compatible with silicones, esters and vegetable oils and is in itself a suitable silicone replacement. Designed to improve formulation spreadability, Ceraphyl SLK reduces the tack, drag and oiliness caused by formulation components such as UV absorbers and pigments.

Leaving a dry, silky feel on the skin, Ceraphyl SLK is an ideal complement to a complete spectrum of formulations, particularly to daily wear products. Applications include sunscreens, hand and body creams and lotions, as well as antiperspirants, deodorants and night creams. Its beneficial properties also extend to colour cosmetics such as foundation creams and concealers, lipsticks and lip salves, eye shadow and blusher products.
