HUNTSMAN TO LAUNCH TWO NEW TITANIUM DIOXIDE PIGMENT GRADES AT EUROCOAT 2008

Huntsman unveils DELTIO™81X pigment, the first coatings grade in Huntsman’s truly revolutionary DELTIO™ pigment range to be designed for the industrial coatings market. Also, from its classic TIOXIDE® pigment range, Huntsman launches TIOXIDE®TR88 pigment, a new versatile Ti0₂ grade, developed specifically for the decorative coatings market.

Huntsman Pigments will unveil its new DELTIO™81X and its new TIOXIDE®TR88 titanium dioxide (Ti0₂) pigments at Eurocoat 2008, the international coatings industry fair to be held in Lyon, France, from 30th September to 2nd October this year.

Huntsman successfully introduced its new truly revolutionary DELTIO™ range of titanium dioxide pigments to the industry at K2007 in October last year. The DELTIO™ product range uses innovative technology to generate a free-flowing form of titanium dioxide pigment, without the use of chemical additives. DELTIO™ pigments not only provide all the excellent optical properties the industry has come to expect from Huntsman’s classic TIOXIDE® pigment range, but also deliver a revolutionary low dust titanium dioxide pigment with unique flow attributes. Industrial coatings manufacturers using DELTIO™ pigments will benefit from improved efficiency in pigment handling processes, reduced energy consumption, and a cleaner working environment.

Huntsman’s new DELTIO™81X pigment is the first in the DELTIO™ range to be designed specially for the industrial coatings market and is formulated for use in a range of industrial coatings applications such as powder, protective coil and automotive coatings. DELTIO™81X pigment offers the excellent resistance to weathering (durability), and outstanding whiteness and gloss customers have come to expect from Huntsman’s TIOXIDE®TR81 pigment and also delivers added value to customers by providing benefits in enhanced flow, productivity and low dust.

The Pigments division has been manufacturing titanium dioxide pigments for over 70 years. In this time customers world-wide have come to value and expect the excellent optical properties, consistency and reliability delivered by Huntsman’s TIOXIDE® range of TiO₂ pigments.

This year, Huntsman will launch TIOXIDE®TR88 pigment at Eurocoat. This new, versatile grade in the TIOXIDE® pigment range has been specifically developed for the coatings market. TIOXIDE®TR88 pigment is a high quality titanium dioxide pigment that can be used for both interior and exterior decorative coating applications providing excellent colour, opacity, and durability in a range of low VOC paint formulations, including high quality interior matt and semi-gloss emulsions, exterior wood finishes and masonry paint.

Huntsman Pigments will showcase these new titanium dioxide pigments at stand A33, the Huntsman stand, at Eurocoat 2008, and in a series of press briefings to take place during the show.
