GREAT LAKES ANNOUNCES A NEW HALOGEN-FREE FLAME RETARDANT FOR POLYURETHANE AUTOMOTIVE SEATING, Reofos® NHP is Commercialised
DÜSSELDORF, Germany – Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (NYSE:GLK) today announced the introduction of a new flame retardant for polyurethane foams that meet MVSS 302 test requirements.
Reofos® NHP is a halogen-free, phosphate ester that provides a cost-effective means of achieving flame retardant performance combined with excellent fogging and physical properties. Reofos® NHP is a low viscosity liquid, which does not solidify above 0oC and mixes readily with polyolefins and TDI to yield well-structured foams with little discoloration or scorching. The foams exhibit excellent physical properties with good hardness and particularly low compression set. Reofos® NHP is particularly suited to hot moulded polyurethane automotive seating applications.
