NEW HIGH-PERFORMANCE GLS TPE OFFERS PHTHALATE-FREE, PLASTICIZER-FREE PACKAGING FORMULATIONS
MCHENRY, Ill. – April. 8, 2008 – GLS Corporation, which was recently acquired by PolyOne Corporation (NYSE: POL), is a global leader in the manufacture of high-performance, custom-formulated thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs). The company today introduced a new phthalate-free TPE in its growing specialty VERSAFLEXTM TPE product line. The new product, called VERSAFLEX CL E95 TPE, addresses recent regulations limiting the use of phthalate-based plasticizers in certain applications, and recent market demands for low extractable TPEs. It also offers water-clarity and sterilization capability.

THE DOW CHEMICAL COMPANY LICENSES ITS OLEFIN BLOCK COPOLYMER TECHNOLOGY TO GLS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF NEW TPES
DUSSELDORF, GERMANY – Oct. 24, 2007 – GLS Corp., a global leader in the development, manufacture, and supply of high-performance, custom-formulated thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), today announced that - through a licensed agreement with The Dow Chemical Company - it has been granted rights to provide processors with TPEs incorporating the benefits of OBCs. GLS will globally market the new co-branded OBC-based TPEs under the GLS brand, DYNALLOY® OBC Compounds, and with The Dow Chemical Company’s tag line “Powered by INFUSE™ olefin block copolymers.” In addition to six standard grades of DYNALLOY® OBC Compounds, launched here today at Kunstoffe 2007 (K 2007), GLS will offer customers the ability to customize OBC-based TPEs to achieve specific performance properties.

The new DYNALLOY® OBC injection-molding and blow-molding grades allow GLS to offer customers a broad array of standard and customized TPE alloys for a wide range of applications. With the new DYNALLOY line, GLS has expanded the existing property and application range of OBC technology with exceptional softness, unique feels, a wider range of flow characteristics in injection molding, and introduced a new blow-moldable grade range. DYNALLOY OBCs offer a silky soft touch feel, excellent colorability, isotropic shrinkage, and flow characteristics enabling use in complex molds with long flow paths.

The company will also be showcasing its newest TPE technology breakthroughs, including new high-performance materials with vibration- and sound-damping properties for applications such as power tools and electronics to minimize motor noise, vibration transmission, or shock when dropped.
