GE Advanced Materials Names Greg Adams to Head Automotive Business; John Carrington to Top Marketing Position

BERGEN OP ZOOM, THE NETHERLANDS – Effective Jan. 1, Greg Adams has been named general manager of GE Advanced Materials, Automotive, reporting to John Krenicki, president and chief executive officer of GE Advanced Materials. Previously Adams served as general manager of marketing for GE Advanced Materials, Plastics.

In his new position, Adams will be located in Southfield, Mich. He replaces André Horbach who has been named president and chief executive officer for GE Consumer & Industrial -- Europe, Middle East and Africa.

“Automotive is a key target growth area for Advanced Materials,” says Krenicki, “and Greg’s global experience and expertise in marketing, sales, and business leadership will be of great benefit to our drive to grow automotive. We’re very glad that he has accepted this important role.”

John Carrington has been named general manager of marketing for GE Advanced Materials, Plastics, also reporting to Krenicki. Carrington previously served as automotive marketing manager. He will be based at company headquarters in Pittsfield.

“We’re also very pleased that John has accepted the marketing leadership role in Plastics,” says Krenicki. “As we focus on organic growth in Plastics, John’s proven marketing leadership ability will serve the business well.”

Adams joined GE in 1985 in the Americas resin sales group for GE Plastics. Since then he has served in a number of marketing, industry management, product management, and business leadership positions including, director of Pacific marketing, president of GE Polymershapes, and president of GE Toshiba Silicones located in Japan.

Carrington joined GE in 1991 as a sales representative in the Structured Products business, and has served in a number of positions in sales, sales leadership, and marketing including commercial director for NORYL* resin products and Pacific marketing director.
