Communications appointment for Eastman Chemical EMEA

Eastman Chemical Company has announced the appointment of Corinne van Iersel to the post of Manager Communications & Public Affairs for Eastman Chemical Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region. In this post Ms. Van Iersel will be based in The Hague, Netherlands and will report to Godefroy Motte, President Eastman Chemical EMEA.

In her new post, Corinne van Iersel will be responsible for all corporate communications and public affairs activities in the region. She will represent the Company in various committees and associations active on national and international levels. Her other responsibilities include the introduction of a community relations programme for Eastman’s manufacturing facilities in the region. In addition, she will be involved in a range of activities relating to the opening of Eastman’s new corporate headquarters in the Netherlands in the later half of 2003.

Corinne van Iersel is a Dutch national, with a strong background in communications. Before taking up her post at Eastman Chemical, she was Corporate Communications Manager for NedCar, a manufacturer of passenger cars in the Netherlands. Prior to this, she held Marketing Communications and Public Relations posts for Zeneca Resins in Europe and Corporate PR posts for ICI in the Benelux region.

In announcing the appointment, Godefroy Motte said: “Over the past five years, Eastman Chemical Company has significantly expanded its operations in the region.
