Eastman Announces Price Increase on Selected Ester Solvents

Eastman Chemical Company has announced a list and off-list price increase of US$0.03 per pound/US$0.07 per kilogram on selected Eastman ester solvents effective April 1, 2003. A US$0.04 per pound/US$0.09 per kilogram price increase has been announced for Eastman EEP.

The list and off-list price increase applies to the United States, Canada and Latin America, including Puerto Rico, Mexico and the Caribbean. The list price increase also applies to Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. The company said the price increase is due to continuing increased raw material costs.

The US$0.03 per pound/US$0.07 per kilogram increase applies to the following products manufactured and marketed by Eastman:

• Ethyl Acetate, Urethane Grade

• Ethyl Acetate 85-88%

• Ethyl Acetate Spectro Grade

• Ethyl Acetate Kosher, NF Grade

• Ethyl Acetate UG, Kosher

• Ethyl Acetate Food Grade

• n-Propyl Acetate

• Isopropyl Acetate

• Isobutyl Acetate

• n-Butyl Acetate

• EastaPure n-Butyl Acetate

• IBIB

• EGDA

• 2-EH Acetate

The US$0.04 per pound/US$0.09 per kilogram price increase applies to Eastman EEP. Ester solvents have a wide variety of end-use applications.
