PIP introduces revolutionary G-TEK® 3GXTM cut resistant gloves made with Dyneema® Diamond Technology at CIOSH 2015

Enhancing Cut Protection, Comfort and Usability to the Next Level through Innovation and Partnership

90th China (International) Occupational Safety & Health Goods Exhibition
14 – 16 April 2015
Shanghai New International Expo Centre
PIP Booth Number: W1/ATC03

Shanghai, 14 April 2015 - At the 90th China (International) Occupational Safety & Health Goods Exhibition (CIOSH) in Shanghai, Protective Industrial Products (PIP), a leading supplier of personal protective and safety equipment, will introduce the next level in hand protection which combines enhanced and reliable cut protection, comfort and usability for the millions of workers in China:

the G-Tek® 3GXTM range of cut-resistant gloves made with Dyneema® Diamond Technology fiber.

The latest range of PIP’s G-Tek® 3GXTM cut resistant gloves which meets the China’s National Standard for Hand Protection, Protective Gloves Against Mechanical Risks (GB24541-2009), and the EN 388 Standard Cut Level 3, 4 and 5 protection will be on display at PIP’s booth W1/ATC03.

Paul Tao, Managing Director, PIP (AMEA) said: “As China continues to grow its markets at a higher pace with increasing importance on workplace safety standards and regulations, we are bringing the best in materials innovation, design and quality to create the next level in reliable cut protection gloves, so that more Chinese companies in automotive manufacturing, food processing, glassworks and other manufacturing/industrial sectors can benefit from enhanced safety, and at the same time contribute to operational productivity and efficiency.”

The latest range of PIP’s G-Tek® 3GXTM cut resistant gloves made with DSM Dyneema’s Dyneema® Diamond Technology offers significant benefits over generic High Performance Polyethylene (HPPE) fibers and other traditional materials used for cut resistant gloves such as aramid, leather, nylon and Polyester/Glass fibers.

Improved Cut Resistance Technology

PIP’s G-Tek® 3GXTM range of cut resistant gloves are made with Dyneema® Diamond Technology, proprietary ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber enhanced with microparticles for improved cut resistance. This unique material enables up to two times the cut resistance performance versus generic High Performance Polyethylene (HPPE) fibers. It offers maximum protection over traditional materials like aramid, leather, nylon, Polyester/Glass fibers and can achieve EN388 Standard Cut Level 5 protection without the use of glass or steel fiber reinforcement.

Better Total Comfort

PIP’s G-Tek® 3GXTM range of cut resistant gloves are more comfortable than gloves made with traditional materials like aramid, Polyester/Glass fibers and leather. This means they are more likely to worn and stay worn, which is the first step to preventing accidents.

The Dyneema® Diamond Technology fibers also offer a cool touch and releases heat faster than aramid gloves allowing hands to stay cool and not become sweaty.

Furthermore, it provides maximum protection (up to EN388 Standard Cut Level 5 protection) without the use of glass or steel fibers which may break during use, causing skin irritation.

Greater Dexterity

PIP’s G-Tek® 3GXTM range of cut resistant gloves offers ‘skin-like’ dexterity, promoting natural hand movements which allow users to be protected while performing delicate and precise tasks efficiently without gloves limiting or getting in the way of work. This is because yarns based on Dyneema® Diamond Technology are thinner than generic HPPE fibers, and the fibers are up to 40% lighter (less dense) than aramid fibers; allowing cut resistant gloves to be much thinner, lighter and more flexible without sacrificing any protection.

High Durability

PIP’s G-Tek® 3GX™ range of cut resistant gloves made with Dyneema® Diamond Technology offers higher durability in comparison to gloves made with traditional materials like aramid, leather, nylon, Polyester/Glass fibers. They offer significantly greater abrasion resistance (up to 50%) than aramids and can be worn, washed and reused multiple times without losing its performance.

Olivier Boubeaud, Global Segment Director at DSM Dyneema, said: “DSM Dyneema has always been at the forefront of materials innovation in cut protection and hand safety for workers around the world including China. Our close partnership with PIP and the latest G-Tek® 3GXTM range of cut resistant gloves made with Dyneema® Diamond Technology are testament to our ongoing commitment in setting new standards and delivering truly reliable and innovative solutions to serve industry needs, and protect the hands of millions of workers in various industries in China.”
