DELIVERING LOWEST SYSTEMS COST IN SOLID FORMULATIONS

Heerlen, 05 June 2009 – In response to a change in need, DSM Elastomers has launched Keltan® DE 8642A, a fast curing, high green strength ENB grade with very good filler and plasticizer acceptance. The new grade is particularly suitable for extrusion and molding applications with high level of fillers, such as solid sealing systems. Keltan® DE 8642A is produced in friable bales for excellent mixing performance.

Thanks to its high mechanical strength, new Keltan® DE 8642A is an excellent alternative for competitive products offering similar properties, including tensile strength and elongation at break, at loading levels between 500 – 700 phr. In addition Keltan® DE 8642A has an increased compound loading level with retention of physical properties compared to Medium Mooney crystalline EPDM grades.

In line with DSM Elastomer’s commitment to innovation, this grade was developed in a matter of months. Today Keltan® DE 8642A is widely accepted even in the solid sealing systems application segment, as it is able to deliver lowest systems cost.
