Clariant launches GlucoPure™ - an innovation in "greener" cleaning power

Muttenz, October 7, 2014 - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, introduces a new innovation for the global home care market with the launch of GlucoPure™ - a novel sugar surfactant that offers ingredients with an improved eco-profile without compromising cleaning power.

GlucoPure is based on glucose and natural oils – RSPO certified palm oil and coconut oil – and has a Renewable Carbon Index (RCI) of 95%. It is available in three specialized variations, each with adjustable foaming properties and different application and user benefits for hand dishwashing liquids and bathroom cleaner formulations.

With its high bio-based content, GlucoPure is unique in achieving proven cleaning performance that is superior to other sugar surfactants and comparable to traditional surfactants.

GlucoPure is also extremely mild and creates formulations that are gentle to hands and surface materials. Its excellent eco-toxicological profile makes it suitable for products with ecolabels. No chronic aquatoxicity labeling is required for GlucoPure according to GHS classification.

Clariant will unveil its GlucoPure innovation under its chemical name Glucamide at the AOCS World Conference on Fabric & Home Care Technology Showcase on October 6-9, 2014 in Switzerland.
