Borouge showcases innovative plastics solutions at Chinaplas 2010

A leading provider of innovative polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) materials showcases its infrastructure, automotive and advanced packaging solutions in China

Borouge, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, is participating in the 24th Chinaplas (International Exhibition for Plastics and Rubber Industries), to be held at the new International Expo Center in Shanghai, China from April 19 to 22, 2010.

Customer-focused innovations for infrastructure, automotive and advanced packaging applications based on Borouge’s unique Borstar® process technology will be presented at Borouge’s booth (Stand G01, Hall W2).

Innovative Plastic Solutions

Automotive components

Polypropylene is the dominant material for engineered plastics and advanced compounds that are replacing an increasing number of alternative materials in the automotives industry.

With its new catalyst technologies such as Borealis’ proprietary Borstar® technology and advanced compounding techniques, and through close co-operation with OEMs, Borouge today offers a wide range of innovative automotive plastics solutions, a variety of which will be showcased during Chinaplas 2010. This includes solutions for air intake manifolds, door handles, bumpers, front end modulus, dashboards, and door and rocker panels.

Advanced packaging

Borouge today offers an innovative range of plastics solutions utilising proprietary technologies such as Borstar process technology and Borealis Nucleation Technology (BNT) to deliver unique property profiles.

With their economical processing, weight saving potential and differentiated properties, Borstar enhanced PE and PP solutions are best suited for applications that require combinations of excellent mechanical properties such as stiffness, durability and excellent crack resistance. This results in improved bubble stability and improved film converting for flexible packaging as well as reduced cycle time for rigid packaging.

Packaging converters are constantly looking for innovations that will help provide new types of packaging options, improve the appearance of the goods and enhance the shelf life of food. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to witness and experience first hand how Borouge advanced plastics solutions are being used in advanced applications ranging from frozen food packaging, stand-up pouches, personal care, boutique bags, security and courier bags and agricultural films to nonwovens and houseware containers.

Pipe systems

Borouge leads the market today in pipe solutions for drinking water and sanitation, gas distribution and industrial applications and domestic heating and cooling systems. The company provides innovative quality and durable products conforming to the most stringent specifications around the world. Together with Borealis, a leading provider of chemical and plastics solutions, it is helping shape the polyolefin pipe industry with education and promotion of the benefits of high quality products and standards throughout the value chain through its Water for the World initiative.
