Borouge highlights high performance Wire & Cable solutions based on Borstar® technology

Borouge, together with one of its owners, Borealis, will showcase its high performance Wire & Cable solutions at Wire China 2006 – one of the world's biggest trade fairs for wire and cable manufacturing and processing technologies.

Held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Pudong from 25 to 28 September 2006, the Borouge Booth at C04 in Hall E2 will feature exciting applications of its Borstar® Enhanced Polyethylene (PE) and a full range of products specifically for the wire and cable industry.

Improved properties with Borstar® Enhanced PE

Besides exclusively supplying Borealis SupercureTM crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation and semi conductive materials for medium, high and extra high voltage power cables, VisicoTM and AmbicatTM for low voltage cables and an extensive range of products for communication cables, Borouge delivers high performance jacketing grades based on the Borstar PE process.

The Borstar jacketing grades use multimodal polyethylene which enhances the strength and processability of the material. Michael Bjørn, Marketing Manager, Wire & Cable Business Unit in Borealis explains, "Our proprietary Borstar PE process allows us to tailor products for optimal performance in their applications. The outstanding characteristics of Borstar Enhanced PE such as excellent Environmental Stress Cracking Resistance (ESCR), good processability, low tendency to shrinkage, hard surface and good barrier properties have made these jacketing grades the preferred choice in a number of demanding applications."
