BELDEN COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF LUMBERG AUTOMATION COMPONENTS
Germany based industrial connector company will expand Belden’s position as a leader in industrial connectivity solutions for factory automation.
St. Louis, Missouri – Belden (NYSE:BDC), a world leader in the development of signal transmission solutions, has completed purchase of the assets of Lumberg Automation Components from The Lumberg Group for an undisclosed cash price. Lumberg Automation is a leading supplier of industrial connectors, high performance cord-sets and field bus communication components for factory automation machinery. The company’s 2006 revenues were approximately $75 million.
"Lumberg Automation is a well respected supplier of industrial connectors to leading equipment OEMs. The company provides both standard and customized solutions to meet the connectivity requirements of a wide range of industrial customers,” said John Stroup, President and Chief Executive Officer of Belden. “Lumberg Automation will complement the industrial connectivity portfolio of Belden’s recently acquired Hirschmann Automation and Control, as well as Belden’s expertise in signal transmission. With Belden's expanding global reach and this strong portfolio, we expect to accelerate our revenue growth in the industrial market."
Lumberg Automation is headquartered in Schalksmuhle, Germany, employs approximately 300 associates and has production facilities in Germany and the United States.
