Fasson: ideas that work for you

Labelexpo Europe Preview Avery Dennison Roll Materials Europe Stand 5A40 - Hall 5

“Fasson. Ideas that work for you” is the theme for the Avery Dennison Roll Materials team at this year's Labelexpo Europe. They are focussed on using their show presence to welcome exhibition visitors to take a seat and enjoy a 'no obligation' discussion of their labelling needs - now and in the future. The aim is to identify a solution that offers the unique Fasson combination of innovation, optimal product/price performance ratio, and service, for converter and end-user alike.

Innovation is certainly not new to Avery Dennison: it was R. Stanton Avery, the company's founder, who invented the original concept of the self-adhesive label back in 1935, and the company has been in the vanguard of creativity since then. The name he gave to the self-adhesive materials manufacturing arm of his business - Fasson - is today a global synonym for invention and innovation, as well as Dr Jackstadt being an industrial pioneer and the first to introduce self-adhesives to the European market for Jac.

Equally, there can be no doubt that Fasson offers the world's most extensive platform of labelstock products and services today - for narrow-web converters large and small. With a fine-tuned product portfolio now featuring the best of the Fasson and Jac ranges, there is something for everyone - as the Labelexpo stand will show.

Perhaps the most high-profile innovation in the Fasson product range is the very successful Fasson Rapid-Roll®, which complements the Fasson self-adhesive labelstocks with a wide range of non-adhesive materials - papers, cards, laminates and release liners. Fasson Rapid-Roll® products are used for a wide range of non-adhesive applications such as tags and tickets, coupons and leaflet labels for markets such as food, transport & logistics, garments, and heavy industrial goods. With an extraordinary 48h shipping service and very low minimum order quantities the Fasson Rapid-Roll concept improves narrow web printers' flexibility and profitability.

Fasson Specialty products for custom-tailored applications are good examples of the way in which the Roll Materials Division proactively identifies customers' current and future needs, and responds with leading-edge label solutions.

At the service level, the name Fasson has always been associated with innovation: Fasson Exact SM and Exact Plus SM net-width services, as well as Fasson Connect online ordering and other on-line service platforms.

Partnership in an industry as competitive, today, as packaging can make the difference between success and failure in securing important end-user contracts. The Fasson team aims to work with converter customers to identify innovative solutions to the ever-changing challenges of the end-user market.

Says Palle Jespersen, Marketing Director, Avery Dennison Roll Materials Europe: ‘The label industry today is moving away from its old position as a platform of big and little players all selling to the same markets. Today, our company recognises that there is a more focussed converter base. The larger players, with an increasingly international vision, continue to supply high label volumes, especially for major brands and retailing.

Conversely, company size is not important when it comes to niche specialities such as security labelling solutions, industry-specific requirements, and small-volume luxury labels. Those particular market needs can be met by converters large and small who have the vision and commitment to develop added-value solutions.

Both business pathways can lead to a healthy, profitable company future - and our people are ready and willing partners to label printers large and small in providing the innovation and technical expertise to back-up their converting skills.’
