DSM Engineering Plastics has introduced a new grade of Xantar LDS PC/ABS suitable for Laser Direct Structuring (LDS) applications. Xantar LDS 3710 was developed for antennas in mobile telecom products such as telephones, PDAs and other applications where integrated circuitry is used to replace traditional printed circuit boards.

Shanghai, China – November 19, 2008 --- Rhodia today celebrated the opening of its new world-class Research & Development facility in Shanghai, China.
November 18, 2008 – Introduced at Fakuma 2008, one product that is guaranteed not to make a big noise in the marketplace is the Rapid Silencing System (RSS) from Rapid Granulator AB, the Swedish world leader in plastics granulation technology. With increasingly stringent noise constraints being applied to the workplace by national and EU regulatory authorities, the RSS offers moulders and OEMs an innovative noise reducing solution. 
DSM Engineering Plastics today announced the expansion of its longstanding partnership with French firm Valeo to develop enhanced technologies for reducing the environmental impact from vehicles. Valeo Engine Management Systems, a division of Valeo, is leveraging the superior performance and aesthetics of Arnite polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and polybutylene terephthalate/polyethylene (PBT/PET) resins from DSM Engineering Plastics in several innovative engine systems: electronic throttle control (ETC) exhaust gas recirculation (EGR); and ignition systems. By replacing traditional materials with Arnite resins, Valeo is able to advance its market-leading engine management solutions and offer automakers new ways to enhance driving satisfaction while minimizing environmental implications.
