BENEO inaugure une nouvelle usine de transformation de légumineuses
BENEO, l’un des principaux fabricants d’ingrédients fonctionnels pour l’alimentation humaine et animale ainsi que pour les produits pharmaceutiques, a officiellement inauguré sa première usine de transformation de légumineuses, après seulement un an et demi de travaux de construction. Cette nouvelle usine est le fruit d’un investissement d’environ 50 millions d’euros réalisé par le groupe Südzucker, auquel appartient BENEO, sur son site allemand d’Obrigheim, en Rhénanie-Palatinat. Des légumineuses, telles que la féverole locale, y sont transformées en ingrédients pour la production de denrées alimentaires et d’aliments pour animaux. Pour marquer l’occasion, une cérémonie d’inauguration spéciale s’est tenue le 11 avril en présence de Daniela Schmitt (ministre des affaires économiques de Rhénanie-Palatinat), Nicole Eicher (maire d’Obrigheim), Dr Niels Pörksen (CEO du Groupe Südzucker), Olivier Roques (CEO de BENEO GmbH), Niels E. Hower (Member of the Executive Board de BENEO GmbH) et Dirk Dinger (président du conseil d’entreprise de l’usine d’Obrigheim).

Mondi expands packaging portfolio and capacity by completing acquisition of Schumacher Packaging’s Western Europe operations
Mondi, a global leader in the production of sustainable packaging and paper, has completed the acquisition of the Western Europe assets of Schumacher Packaging, expanding the product range, capacity and innovation available to customers demanding high-performance, sustainable packaging at scale.

Syensqo, a leading global provider of advanced performance materials and chemical solutions, is pleased to announce the successful completion of an ambitious recycling initiative. The results of comprehensive trials have proven that multilayer food packaging structures with Ixan® polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC) can effectively be recycled into valuable feedstock for other applications within a standard polyethylene (PE) based waste stream. The trials have been conducted by CSI, an acknowledged provider of testing and certification services for controlled environments, part of IMQ group.
A new randomised controlled trial, conducted by Gaylor et al, demonstrates that BENEO’s slow and sustained release carbohydrate Palatinose™ improves aspects of sleep when consumed as a bedtime drink. By leading to more balanced blood glucose levels, particularly during the first half of the night, Palatinose™ may support a longer deep sleep phase and thus restful sleep. Based on this research, there is now even more evidence to show that Palatinose™ provides a range of benefits beyond metabolic health.
