Perstorp works with Intel Open IP Advanced Liquid Cooling on synthetic thermal management fluid

Leading global specialty chemicals innovator Perstorp, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad (PCG), has worked closely with Intel’s Open IP Advanced Liquid Cooling team in recent years. Together they have developed a high-performance synthetic thermal management fluid specifically designed for immersion cooling in data centers. They initiated the partnership in 2022 as a part of continuing efforts to create more sustainable data center cooling solutions. More recently, the partners participated in COMPUTEX 2024 in Taipei where Intel showcased its Gaudi 3 AI accelerator solution. The accelerator uses Intel’s SuperFluid Cooling Technology, which leverages the low viscosity and high flash point balance of Perstorp’s advanced synthetic thermal management fluid.

Syensqo celebrates first site to achieve carbon neutrality

Syensqo’s Kallo-Beveren production facility in Belgium has successfully achieved carbon neutrality by running exclusively on renewable energy. The facility produces Syensqo’s Ryton® polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) specialty polymer compounds.

Expanded PolyStyrene (EPS) microplastics are widely recognised as a significant contributor to marine plastic pollution, making up over 40% of plastic debris on Asian beaches. Bans on EPS packaging have gained tremendous momentum recently, particularly in the European Union and the wider Caribbean region. Legislation banning the use of EPS packaging has also been introduced in Fiji, the Philippines, and regions in the United States, just to name a few.

Solvay PPS Plants in Texas and Belgium Certified for Mass Balance Production

Solvay Solvay has announced that its polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) production at Borger, Texas, and its Ryton® PPS Echo compounding at Kallo-Beveren, Belgium, have obtained independent mass balance (MB1) certification under the widely recognized International Sustainability and Carbon Certification PLUS (ISCC PLUS2) scheme of accreditation.
