TRANSMARE LAUNCHES BAMBOO FIBRE REINFORCED POLYPROPYLENE AND BIOPLASTIC COMPOUNDS
Friedrichshafen, Germany, October 14, 2008 – Netherlands based Transmare Compounding B.V. is using Fakuma 2008 as the international launch platform for a new range of products reinforced with fibres from 100% renewable raw materials. The new compounds, which carry the Transmare® brand, are based on polypropylene (PP) and biodegradable polylactic acid (PLA) and utilise bamboo fibre reinforcement.

Friedrichshafen, Allemagne – 14 Octobre 2008 – Les plus gros broyeurs à « cœur ouvert », nouvelle série 600, ont été présentés aujourd’hui à la Fakuma 2008. La série 600 est la plus large des broyeurs Rapid à cœur ouvert pour accès direct à la chambre de coupe. Cela présente un temps de maintenance et de nettoyage réduit d’au moins 50%, sans compromis sur la sécurité ou la qualité du broyé.

Friedrichshafen, Allemagne – 14 Octobre 2008 – Aujourd’hui à la Fakuma 2008, Rapid Granulator dévoile sa nouvelle génération série 100 de broyeurs à vitesse lente sans grille avec IMD intégré. La nouvelle série 100 est un ensemble de huit modèles de base, allant d’un petit modèle 100-xx dédié au broyage des carottes et déchets à parois épaisses, jusqu’au 100-75 Twin capable de broyer de grande pièces injectées comme des planches de bord ou pares chocs.

BAE’S PROTECH ARMORED PRODUCTS INTRODUCES ULTRA-LIGHTWEIGHT PROTECTIVE HELMETS MADE WITH DYNEEMA® UD TO US MARKET
URMOND (NL), 14 October 2008 - DSM Dyneema today announced that Protech Armored Products, a BAE Systems Products Group company, is marketing protective helmets made with ultra-strong Dyneema® HB26 unidirectional (UD) composite in the United States. The Denver Police Department in Colorado is the first U.S. organization to adopt the new Protech Delta LT helmets. This model meets National Institute of Justice (NIJ) IIIA specifications and is 15 percent lighter in weight than comparable 100 percent aramid helmets. The Denver Police Department's selection of Protech helmets reflects the growing demand for Dyneema® UD in life protection materials. Additional capacity in both yarn and UD (unidirectional) material used in personal and vehicle protection has been brought on stream at its Greenville, North Carolina, facility. DSM Dyneema is on target to double global capacity for UD in 2009, as part of a USD 450 million investment announced earlier.
