La Toro sceglie i compound Lubricomp® della LNP per i suoi nuovi irrigatori per superfici erbose
Nel progettare i nuovi irrigatori dinamici EZ AdjustTM, la Toro si era posta l'obiettivo di porsi un gradino più in alto rispetto alla concorrenza sotto il profilo delle caratteristiche, delle prestazioni e della durata, e di realizzare prodotti che tenessero fede al motto "sistemi su cui si può contare." Per realizzare questo obiettivo si è rivolta alla LNP Engineering Plastics, società del gruppo GE Plastics (sigla alla Borsa di New York: GE) con sede a Exton, Pennsylvania, e ha deciso di utilizzare una resina acetalica Lubricomp® contenente lubrificanti interni per i cuscinetti e l'ingranaggio, preferendola ad altri materiali per le sue doti eccezionali di durata e resistenza all'usura per abrasione. Nell'irrigatore viene impiegato anche un poliuretano Lubricomp contenente lubrificanti interni per gli elementi di tenuta e le guarnizioni del cappuccio in cui è inserita la torretta, al fine di garantire un funzionamento dolce e senza intoppi.

Dovendo progettare un motore ad aria e a bassa velocità destinato a completare una linea di strumenti dentistici, la società Star Dental della Pennsylvania (USA) aveva realizzato la necessità di individuare un materiale senza necessità di lubrificazione per la realizzazione delle palette scorrevoli e delle boccole, la Star Dental ha scelto un termoplastico ad elevate prestazioni - un grado di Victrex® PEEK™ compoundato con fibra di carbone - grazie alla sua lubrificazione intrinseca e alla sua capacità di sopportare sterilizzazioni ripetute.

Dow Corning establishes new venture in China to expand silicone rubber manufacturing, product offerings
In a move to expand its rubber manufacturing capability and product offerings to customers in Asia and around the world, Dow Corning Corporation and Dow Corning Toray Silicone Co. Ltd. (DCTS) have formed a new company, Ling Dao Silicone (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, to utilize the strong technology and capability in the rubber industry from DCTS and operates a new manufacturing facility in the Min Hang District of Shanghai.
