(Midland, Mich. – April 14, 2003) Xiameter, the web-enabled business unit from Dow Corning, today announced a series of website upgrades for empowered members of www.xiameter.com. The upgrades provide Xiameter’s customers with new functions such as the ability to search for and receive individual product application guides. They also include upgrades to current site functions, offering customers greater flexibility in product, order, delivery, and account tracking.
“At Xiameter, we make every effort to ensure that customers have easy and rapid access to information around the clock,” said Xiameter Executive Director Michael Lanham. “These upgrades are the result of customer feedback. We regularly survey customers to ensure we understand and meet their needs. Our goal is to provide customers with easy-to-use, effective tools to purchase high quality silicones at prices they need to stay competitive.”
Xiameter’s latest additions to the website are made possible by an upgrade to the current order entry software powered by HAHT Commerce. Upgrading to HAHT 7.1 allows Xiameter to offer the tools and functionality customers have been asking for.
The upgrades include:
Improved “My Accounts” Function: Upgrades to the My Accounts function, where members create orders, view delivery status and account summary, include a new page design and new tabular navigation to allow customers to navigate the site quickly and easily. The upgrade includes a Your Information tab that shows most recent orders, account status, order lists, and favorite items.
Advanced Product Catalog Functions: Xiameter’s Product Catalog has been upgraded for improved speed and efficiency enabling members to conduct advanced searches, sort by material number or description, and view product details such as typical applications and properties. Members can also personalize their My Favorite Items section with specific product information.
Updated Order and Delivery Status Functions: The Order Status and Order Delivery functions have been renamed Find Order and Find Delivery for easier navigation. Both functions offer advanced searching options for orders and deliveries with a Find Material look-up tool and continue to allow customers to search orders and deliveries by order or delivery number, material number, purchase order number, and date range.
Enhanced Account Status Features: In addition to providing customers with a summary of accounts payable information, the Account Status function now offers an easier-to-read Account Summary. New Account Status features include a Find Invoice capability, for those who may have misplaced order information; an Invoice Status feature that links directly to a customer’s invoice; and a direct link to the Invoice Detail screen from a member’s email. Customers can also view their payment status to plan when payments are due.
Single-View Order History Page: Customers can now view real-time results of their order history, search for orders by date range and material, and sort by any column, all within one screen using the newly updated Order History function.
Other Changes: Other upgrades to the Xiameter site include User Tips that provide members information on the specific actions that can be performed on each page; a glossary of terms; and online training for those who would like to learn more about ordering online or learn more about these upgrades.
