GE Plastics Presents $25,000 to the Eindhoven University of Technology for Polymer Research
BERGEN OP ZOOM, THE NETHERLANDS — March 31, 2006 — In a ceremony at the TU/e on March 29, GE Plastics presented a donation of $25,000 to Prof. Dr. Piet Lemstra, senior professor for the Laboratory of Polymer Technology (SKT) in the Department for Chemical Engineering and Chemistry. The donation was presented on behalf of Dr. Theo Hoeks, principal scientist at GE Plastics in Bergen op Zoom, and a winner of GE’s prestigious Edison Award in 2005.

Owens Corning Announces Multi-Million Dollar Investment in Fabric Knitting Capability to Meet Growing Global Demand for Wind Energy Market
PARIS, France: March 28, 2006 – At the JEC Composites Show, Owens Corning (OWENQ.OB) today announced the addition of a new glass fiber knitting line at its facility north of São Paulo in Brazil. This news follows two other major Owens Corning announcements for the wind energy market which include a capital investment in India to support the country’s growing wind energy demand and a new breakthrough single-end roving and knitted fabric, WindStrand™, the first application using the new Owens Corning high-performance reinforcement platform, HiPer-tex™. WindStrand product will allow the wind energy market to take another step forward in competing successfully against other alternative energy sources by reducing the cost per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

Perfect symbiosis of time and N-SPEC® of Brenntag Oil & Gas
Brenntag Oil & Gas Europe, one of the world’s leading suppliers in pipeline cleaning services, recently managed to open an offshore 7.3 km, 6 5/8” crude trunk line with N-SPEC 50 dispersant/solvent. The line, which belongs to Petromar, Romania’s offshore petroleum exploration company, had been obstructed for six years and previous efforts to open it had failed. It took almost one and a half years before the N-SPEC crew managed to open the line. Peter Verkiel, European Product Manager N-SPEC products & services at Brenntag, elaborates on the project.

Borealis PP compound boosts long-term performance for white goods
Appliance manufacturers are taking advantage of a new polypropylene (PP) compound GB366WG from Borealis. GB366WG is a 30 per cent glass filled polypropylene with a special detergent stabilisation system, developed specifically as a replacement for stainless steel in dishwasher and washing machine interiors. This new solution lowers production costs and increases production efficiency, while delivering improved, long-term performance.

中國 上海 2006年3月23日 ― 阿科瑪（中國）投資有限公司和上海焦化有限公司宣佈：上海阿科瑪雙氧水有限公司其雙氧水年產能力將擴大一倍，從3.8萬噸/年增加到 7.7萬噸/年。新擴產專案能生產70% 以上濃度及專業等級的雙氧水(如食品或電子級的雙氧水等)，將于近期開工建設，07年投產。同時，雙方正在籌備下一輪擴產，一旦實現將達到10萬噸/年以上。
