Toro entwickelt wettbewerbsfähige kleine Rasensprenger aus Lubricomp®-Compounds von LNP
Wenn sich Toro an den Entwurf neuer Rasensprenger macht, sollen dabei Produkte entstehen, die in ihrer Klasse jeweils Spitze sind und die Konkurrenz in Sachen Funktion, Leistung und Haltbarkeit hinter sich lassen. Das Firmenmotto lautet so denn auch „Count on it“. Aus diesem Grund wandte sich Toro an LNP Engineering Plastics, eine Kunststofftochter von GE (NYSE-Kürzel: GE) mit Sitz in Exton, Pennsylvania, um Werkstoffe für das neue Rasensprengermodell EZ AdjustTM zu entwickeln. Für die Zahnräder und die Lager im Kraftübertragungsblock kommt hierbei ein Lubricomp®-Acetal mit interner Schmierung von LNP, zum Einsatz, das für eine außerordentliche Verschleißfestigkeit und Haltbarkeit sorgt. In Verschlüssen und Dichtungen im Aufsatz des Sprengers, in dem das Steigrohr untergebracht ist, wird darüber hinaus ein Lubricomp-Polyurethan mit interner Schmierung verwendet, das einen glatten und reibungslosen Betrieb gewährleistet.

Victrex® PEEK™ polymer components contribute to dentistry “without lubrication”
When Star Dental of Pennsylvania, USA, was designing its low-speed Titan air motors to power a line of dental attachments, it needed a material for the sliding vanes and bushings that would not require lubrication. Star Dental chose a carbon fibre compounded grade of Victrex® PEEK™ polymer, a high-performance thermoplastic, because of its inherent lubricity and its ability to withstand repeated sterilisation.

Dow Corning establishes new venture in China to expand silicone rubber manufacturing, product offerings
In a move to expand its rubber manufacturing capability and product offerings to customers in Asia and around the world, Dow Corning Corporation and Dow Corning Toray Silicone Co. Ltd. (DCTS) have formed a new company, Ling Dao Silicone (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, to utilize the strong technology and capability in the rubber industry from DCTS and operates a new manufacturing facility in the Min Hang District of Shanghai.
