DSM launches collaboration with Vepa to drive powder coating application technology
Royal DSM, a global science-based company active in health, nutrition and materials, has launched a collaboration with Vepa, a leader in project furniture design. The aim of this collaboration is to further demonstrate the value of powder coating technology as an operationally convenient and sustainable alternative to solvent-based liquid coating technology for heat-sensitive substrates. Initially, Vepa will produce one furniture product line with DSM’s proprietary powder coating technology, which will be commercially available by August 2018. A second product line will be launched by the end of 2018.

InSciTe project that targets new way to take eye medicines enters clinical studies
One of the projects of the Chemelot Institute for Science and Technology (InSciTe, The Netherlands) has been granted permission by the ‘Dutch Health and Youth Care Inspection’ (Inspectie Gezondheidszorg en Jeugd’) to enter the clinical test phase. The Ocular Coil Drug Delivery Comfort Trial (OCDC) project developed an innovative way to apply medication to the eye. The OCDC is the first public/private collaborative InSciTe project to reach this crucial phase within 3 years. This is an important achievement for the project partners and InSciTe.
