Ranger Group launches Organikglass™ with GE’s Lexan* GLX Resin for Automotive Glazing Solutions
BERGEN OP ZOOM, THE NETHERLANDS — November 24, 2005 — Italy’s Ranger Group announced in September that it has chosen GE’s Lexan* GLX resin to launch its new premium automotive glazing line with the tradename Organikglass™. GE’s Lexan GLX polycarbonate (PC) resin, which provides high impact strength, UV protection, and light weight that are especially valuable in large panoramic roofs, sunroofs, and backlights, will be injection-molded at Ranger’s state-of-the-art production facility in Carate Brianza, Italy. Ranger expects to develop new automotive glazing applications that will take advantage of the unique properties of GE’s thermoplastic materials vs. conventional materials.

Borealis announces third quarter net profit of EUR 40 million
Borealis today announced its third quarter results reporting a net profit of EUR 40 million, a reduction from both last year’s EUR 51 million and from the EUR 51 million recorded in the second quarter of 2005. The result was achieved amidst a period of deteriorating industry margins and surging oil prices. The mounting pressure from rising oil prices directly and indirectly influences the cost of raw materials, transportation and utilities. Combined with low third quarter olefin prices, it led to historically low cracker margins, only partially recovered by increases in polyolefin prices.
