Surgical mask in development with Acteev™ technology shows efficacy against SARS-CoV-2 plus Level III filtration properties
Ascend Performance Materials announced today it has submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration a 510(k) premarket notification for clearance to market its Acteev™ technology in a pair of high-efficacy surgical masks to protect against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19.

R&D support for textile odor-management according to international testing standards
To ensure responsible use of biocides and international comparability, test methods and test results for antimicrobial treated products must be transparent, useful and comparable. This is precisely why SANITIZED AG, the specialist for antimicrobial material protection and hygiene function in textiles and polymers, had its in-house Microbiology Laboratory in the SANITIZED TecCenter certified by IAC, the International Antimicrobial Council. This non-profit, U.S.-based institute aims to increase safety for antimicrobial treated products and for consumers.

BENEO investeert €50 miljoen in de capaciteitsuitbreiding van de rijstzetmeelfabriek in Wijgmaal
BENEO, een wereldleider op het vlak van gezonde ingrediënten, heeft een productiecapaciteitsuitbreiding met 50% aangekondigd voor de rijstzetmeelfabriek in Wijgmaal. Het tweefasig uitbreidingsproject met een geraamde investeringskost van €50 miljoen zal leiden tot een verhoogde capaciteit tegen maart 2022. Tijdens de uitbreidingsfase van de fabriek, waar momenteel 180 mensen werken, zullen niet alleen tot 20 bijkomende voltijdse banen gecreëerd worden, maar zal er ook extra werk zijn voor onderhouds- en ingenieursbedrijven uit de omgeving. De fabriek heeft een rijke, 160-jarige geschiedenis in de regio van Wijgmaal.
