Clariant, a sustainability-focused specialty chemical company, today announced that it received two awards at the 2025 Gulf Energy Information Excellence Awards. The company won “Best Catalyst Technology” for its chromium-free HySat catalyst platform for hydrogenation processes and shared the “Best Petrochemical Technology” prize with its partner Linde for their jointly developed EDHOX Technology. Moreover, Clariant was selected as a finalist for its StyroMax UL-100 catalysts and VIVAZ services in the categories “Best Catalyst Technology” and “Best Health, Safety or Environmental Contribution (Upstream),” respectively. The award ceremony was held at a gala event on October 16, 2025, in Houston, Texas.

Clariant, a sustainability-focused specialty chemical company, today announced that it has signed a 10-year agreement with SECCO Petrochemicals to provide CLARITY Prime digital services. The new customer will use the AI-powered catalyst performance monitoring platform to enhance production efficiency at its 900-KTA ethylene plant in Shanghai, Jinshan District. CLARITY Prime was previously only available to customers of Clariant’s ammonia, methanol, and hydrogen catalysts. The service was recently extended to also include ethylene producers. CLARITY and CLARITY Prime services are developed with Navigance, a Clariant digital solutions company.

Clariant, a sustainability-focused specialty chemical company, today announced a supply agreement with SYPOX to manufacture and deliver catalysts for what will be the world’s largest electric steam methane reformer (e-SMR). This groundbreaking project combines SYPOX’s cutting-edge electrical reformer technology with Clariant’s expertise to enable syngas production with significantly reduced CO2 emissions. Scheduled to begin operations in 2026, the e-SMR will use 10 megawatts of renewable electricity to generate approximately 150 tons of syngas daily.

Clariant, a sustainability-focused specialty chemical company, today announced that its EnviCat N2O-S nitrous abatement catalyst is performing successfully at Sichuan Lutianhua's nitric acid plant and is projected to reduce annual emissions by 275 kilotons of CO2eq. Sichuan Lutianhua is one of the winners of Clariant's 2021-2022 global Climate Campaign, which offered a free load of the catalyst to nitric acid producers lacking N2O abatement technology. Located in Sichuan Province, China, the 135 KTA nitric acid plant started operating in 2009 with no N2O removal system in place.
