URMOND (NL), 12 October 2007 - Superior Glove is proud to introduce a new glove made with Dyneema® that is truly remarkable in both the cut- and abrasion-resistance categories. Superior's SureKnit™ seamless gloves are a shining example of the best advances that have been made in fiber technology. A glove this comfortable, providing this much protection would have been the impossible dream, back even a few years ago. The SureKnit™ glove with Dyneema® is so abrasion-resistant, it did not wear out even after 5000 cycles on the Taber Test, used to determine abrasion resistance. So now, while providing excellent protection against cuts, Superior offers a glove that won’t wear out long before its cut-resistance does. But there’s another bonus: with help from DSM Dyneema, Superior has applied a unique spinning technique to the process, resulting in a knit that is less slippery, and thus provides better grip.

URMOND (NL), 9 October 2007 - DSM Dyneema, inventor and maker of ultra-strong, lightweight Dyneema® polyethylene fiber, and TenCate Advanced Armour, manufacturer of insert plates, have combined their expertise to develop best-in-class fiber-only (monolithic) inserts to be used in hard ballistic body armor. These inserts, which feature proprietary technology from TenCate and Dyneema® HB50 UniDirectional (UD) technology from DSM Dyneema, result in the lower weight of the total body armor, which allows the possibility of adding additional protection to other body areas.

URMOND (NL), 28 September 2007 - DSM Dyneema today announced its ultra-strong, lightweight Dyneema® polyethylene fiber was chosen by Delta-Utec, one of the world's leading experts in the field, to be used in a swinging tether experiment in space. The experiment entailed the attempted return of a capsule from space without the need for rocket propulsion. The “Space Mail” delivery of the second Young Engineers’ Satellite (YES2) capsule – which was lofted into space on Sept. 14 – made use of the unique qualities and performance of Dyneema® fiber. The total tether had a length of 30 km, with a weight of only 5.5 kg. Also, only a 0.5 mm thickness was required, due to the exceptional strength of Dyneema®.
