Sittard, the Netherlands – July 14, 2010 – SABIC’s two new High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) grades for Industrial Container applications - SABIC® HDPE ICP4907S and SABIC® HDPE ICP5602 - are commercially available for the global market from now on. Both grades meet the latest market challenges offering an optimal balance of properties, improved processing behavior and the potential to reduce system costs. The structure of the two SABIC grades open up new opportunities for noticeably energy and material savings and cycle time reductions - which support converters to improve their cost-efficiency as well as their sustainability performance.

Milliken’s additive innovations take polyolefins to the next level
Ghent, Belgium – 13 July, 2010 – Increasing sustainability through additive innovation is central to the many cutting-edge developments for polyolefins to be presented by Milliken at K 2010. Milliken will showcase pioneering possibilities in optical enhancement and processing improvements for packaging, automotive and technical applications, with the added bonus of energy reduction, less material consumption, and more cost-effective production.
Ghent, Belgium – 5 July, 2010 – Total Petrochemicals USA, Inc., a leading polypropylene (PP) producer headquartered in Houston, and Milliken Chemical, a division of Milliken & Company, collaborated on a new metallocene PP resin clarified with Milliken’s Millad® NX8000 technology. The new material, Total Petrochemicals’ Lumicene® M3382MZ polypropylene, produces thermoformed parts with superior clarity and gloss and excellent side wall stiffness. The resin is ideal for deli containers, drinking cups, lids, domes and food service trays when high clarity and stiffness are important. The combination of Milliken’s high-performance clarifier and Total’s proprietary metallocene technology will help drive expanded use of low-density PP as a cost-effective and environmentally responsible replacement for other clear plastic materials.
