SABIC to debut non-fluorinated SILTEM™ resin blends with enhanced performance

SABIC’s three new families of non-fluorinated SILTEM™ resin blends can potentially replace fluoropolymers in wire & cable applications such as jacketing and tubing.SABIC, a global leader in the chemical industry, has introduced three new families of non-fluorinated SILTEM™ resin blends. These novel materials can potentially replace fluoropolymers such as ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE), fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) in wire & cable applications used in the automotive, industrial, and oil & gas industries. The SABIC materials help to address regulatory restrictions on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), a broad category that includes fluoropolymers.

The global materials company will present its Sustainable & High-Performance Engineering Materials portfolio across three industries: Mobility, Electrical & Electronics, and Consumer Goods. Reducing environmental impact will be a central theme, with applications made from bio- or recycled-based sources on display. Visitors can find Envalior in Hall 6, Booth B11. Experts will be available to explain how the company helps to speed up innovation through co-development at every stage of the design and manufacturing process.

SABIC features at PCIM Europe 2025 specialty thermoplastics that help address challenges with higher-voltage electrical applications

Nichicon’s high heat capacitor elements before casing and sealing (left) and capacitors (right), are made from SABIC’s ELCRES™ HTV150 dielectric film. These advanced film capacitors for AC-DC inverters can operate at high temperatures up to 150°C with minimal derating of applied voltage (V).SABIC, a global leader in the chemical industry, is showcasing here at PCIM Europe 2025, in Hall 7, Booth 140, high-heat specialty thermoplastics well suited for demanding electrical applications, including components used in electric vehicles (EVs). The company’s exhibit features Nichicon Corporation capacitors made with ultra-thin ELCRES™ HTV150 dielectric film. These advanced film capacitors for AC-DC inverters can operate at high temperatures up to 150°C with minimal derating of applied voltage (V), which will be discussed in two technical presentations during the event. Also, SABIC is launching a new extrusion grade of ULTEM™ resin with productivity and other advantages over incumbent materials used in magnet wire insulation for EV motors.

SABIC debuts LNP ELCRES CXL PC copolymers to address high chemical exposure in mobility, electronics, industrial and infrastructure

SABIC’s new LNP™ ELCRES™ CXL polycarbonate (PC) copolymer resins feature exceptional chemical resistance. These specialty materials are well suited to help customers in the mobility, electronics, industrial and infrastructure markets address increased exposure to harsh chemicals that can cause environmental stress cracking and premature failure.SABIC, a global leader in the chemical industry, introduced today its new LNP™ ELCRES™ CXL polycarbonate (PC) copolymer resins featuring exceptional chemical resistance. These specialty materials are well suited to help customers in the mobility, electronics, industrial and infrastructure markets address increased exposure to harsh chemicals that can cause environmental stress cracking and premature failure. In addition to providing higher chemical resistance than incumbent materials, LNP ELCRES CXL copolymer resins can enhance part durability and reliability with excellent low-temperature impact resistance and weatherability.
