Urmond (NL), March 22 - Badinotti S.p.A., an Italian company well-known for excellence in aquaculture nets, has introduced a new predator net for rotection of farmed fish that is made with Dyneema® fiber from DSM Dyneema. The world’s strongest fiber, Dyneema® enables Badinotti’s predator nets to provide improved resistance to bites and damage from seals and seawolfs, compared to nets made from traditional nylon and polyester. The Dyneema® fiber offers an exceptionally low weight-to-strength ratio for reduced tension on mooring lines and easier handling. It also resists UV light and abrasion for extended useful life.

Borealis brings a new polypropylene Borpact™ grade to film converters and product manufacturers, which offers solutions to the packaging industry due to a unique combination of good low temperature resistance, high stiffness, high heat resistance plus excellent optical properties. Food packaging, pouches, peelable lidding film and film bottle labels are among the application areas set to benefit from Borpact BC914TF. With this development, polypropylene can be used in a number of new sectors, such as in labelling and modified atmospheric packaging (MAP) trays for meat and fruit. Borpact BC914TF is available through Borouge, the distributor and marketer of Borealis’ speciality polyolefins in the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

Borouge will be putting its high performance polyolefin business on show at Chinaplas, Asia’s largest international exhibition for the plastics & rubber Industries, in Shanghai from 26 to 29 April 2006. Located in Hall W3, Booth C03 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Pudong, Borouge will showcase how the high performance polyethylene (PE) produced by its plant in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, UAE can be applied in three distinct sectors: packaging, pipes and wire & cable.
